Green Dynasty

How do you make a Green Dynasty?  Well if we were talking alcohol, it would be the most potent, top-shelf mixed drink you’ve ever had! You’d literally second-guess leaving your seat. Fortunately, we’re talking about music, and siblings Michael “Myke Groov” & Paul “P.G.” Green have been making it for a long time. The brothers and Youngstown, OH natives are the sons of a classically trained opera singer/actress/dancer and a drummer/songwriter……so it’s no surprise that they would be able to do multiple things well. Myke Groov is one of the midwest’s best-kept secrets on the production side, having worked with the likes of T-Pain, Rufus Blaq, Junior M.A.F.I.A, Gucci Mane, Jason Derulo, and others. He’s also a DJ and a crafty MC as well. He created the signature sound for Ohio independent label Choppin Game Records as their main producer. He started out making beats in his uncle’s Youngstown studio at the age of 12, and both were engineering sessions before they were in high school. P.G. is a venomous rhyme-spitter as well as a phenomenal singer and songwriter, having performed many genres from hip hop to classical to R&B and gospel. He gained notoriety in his hometown as a battle MC who very seldom took a loss. In fact, he was beating opponents at age 15 that were 10 or more years older than him! Both were exposed to many different genres of music as children, listening to the likes of Weather Report, Earth Wind & Fire, Andre Crouch, The Winans, Parliament, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Bob James, and countless others. Their newest mixtape Winner’s Circle, hosted by Nike.com‘s J WALK offers a blend of musical excellence sure to have you nodding your head for years to come….and this is just a prelude to their album, which is due this coming spring. This collection includes infectious tracks such as “Nuttin2It”, “Heavy”, “Shinin”, which features their sister Ebony Rose, and fan favorite “2 Da Moon”. It may be just a mixtape, but it has the makings of a classic album. This drink is loaded…..sip slow if you dare!!!
